We have been hearing about a wide variety relief organizations and how to give and truly help the people of Haiti. Many donors have asked, "What organization should I donate through? How do I know my money will reach Haiti and make a difference?"

The Free Methodist Church has a clear plan. Learn more about this plan at www.helphaitiheal.org.  By giving to the Bishops' Famine and Relief Fund or International Child Care Ministries, we can have 100% confidence that we are helping the people of Haiti. In fact, our reputation is getting around. Stories have been shared of greater friends and the Christian community have been approaching us to give through our channels. With our established presence in Haiti for over four decades, there is great widsom to draw from in our Haitian church leadership. Our foremost desire is that our efforts honor our Haitian brothers and sisters by working with them and not around them.

As you interact with friends and neighbors and talk of the crisis in Haiti, feel free to share with them how they can give through Free Methodist channels. Invite them to peruse www.helphaitiheal.org to see how God is working through Free Methodists in Haiti. And be sure to share with them that we are not only giving money, we are giving REAL HOPE found in Jesus Christ. Perhaps that conversation will open some doorways with your friends and neighbors who are not yet Christians. I think that would bring honor to our Haitian brothers and sisters.
